I know you’ve a hyperactive imagination
you can’t tell neurotic fiction from reality
You’re so occupied with falling in love
you can’t see what’s right beneath your feet
You’ve got nothing to go off but phony intuition
now your fate, it lives you
And even when you’re strong
you still don’t believe it
You’re stubborn to the core ’til you fall asleep blue
You never heard the lies that you believed
I know when I’m wrong and I’m indiscreet
I don’t care what other people see
but that’s not me
Just because that’s the way that it is doesn’t mean it should be
You can tell em to fuck off
Just because that’s the way that it is doesn’t mean it should be
Doesn’t mean it has to be.
I hope you don’t mind sometimes I need you to say
“just shut up and listen
to the air around you, you weren’t born today
wise up man”
I feel like an actor when I’m with you
I’ve got to learn in my own two shoes
No help, save it up, do ‘em tight feel right
have you got a light?

Well I first listened to this a couple of times on a quiet Sunday afternoon and it really took hold - Emotionally charged songs that resonate with killer riffs that tip a hat to HDQ and Leatherface.. A real gem of a second album that will stay in my top playlist for a while! Dave Miller
